Shipshape Sessions are when we look after our building and the surrounding areas.
We spend a couple of hours clearing up, sorting out, tidying away and generally getting our HQ “Shipshape”. We often aim to complete several improvement projects at each session, such as improving our facilities, equipment and surroundings. It’s great fun and a good opportunity to meet people and make new friends.
As part of supporting Batchworth, we expect parents to attend at least one Shipshape Session per term, or to take on ‘pet’ projects in their own time. This helps to split the work amongst all those who benefit from the experiences Batchworth offers, as leaders are already overworked arranging activities for the children. We ensure we publish a list of tasks ahead of each session, to give parents a chance to select something suitable and prepare accordingly.
