Batchworth Beavers, Cubs and Scouts all wear our navy coloured scarf, which will be presented to new members upon investiture; this is the formal ceremony welcoming them into the group. Wearing your scarf correctly is an important part of our formal uniform; the below videos are to help guide members on this.
All members need to ensure their scarf is neatly rolled. An ironed scarf rolls nicely on a clean surface:
If you’re at camp or lacking a clean surface, you can also roll your scarf by holding tightly to each end. Twist your fingers – don’t attempt to “flip” the scarf around, as the result is always unsatisfactory:
Finally, our scouts will need to tie a neat knot to secure the scarf under the chin. Beavers and Cubs use the woggle for this purpose, as provided at investiture:
