Batchworth Sea Scout Group - Girls in Scouting Batchworth Sea Scout Group is mixed, meaning that we welcome Girls and Boys equally into all aspects of our group.
As part of a commitment to a diverse
membership, we and the National Scouting Association have undertaken
significant work to prepare our Group and the Movement for the full
inclusion of both girls and boys in 2007.
Minority ethnic groups continue to look to Scouting to provide opportunities for young people. Many more young people have tried Scouting for the first time and new Muslim and Sikh Scout Groups in particular have opened this year. ‘The Scout Association is a multi-faith organisation and welcomes young people and adults from every background.' We are proud of the fact that we offer great flexibility while remaining true to our core principles. The wording of the Scout Promise for example, may change to meet specific cultural requirements, while the essence remains the same.
Aim: To increase the diversity of
Scouting to girls and women, minority ethnic groups Achievement: A growing Movement with better representation in all areas. For more information please download a summary document, from the national scouting team, by following this link
